Managing your careers
A national agency was newly created from four existing entities. The project management team that led on the task invited David to work with them on the final stages of the integration process.
This involved:
Phase 1
:: Working with project team leaders to enable a transition for key employees out of the organisation
:: Career counselling with individuals to examine their choices and opt for futures that fulfilled their dreams
:: Liaise with senior members of the agency who were staying on
Phase 2
:: Create a strategy to increase employee engagement
:: Facilitate workshops for staff and senior managers
Results
The final stages of transition went smoothly. The entire project team were provided with 1:1 outplacement support and moved on to a wide range of new fulfilling opportunities. Those who stayed on worked through their feelings in group workshops and this enabled them to identify new career pathways. Managers were up skilled through workshops to have positive career conversations with their staff to create a more optimistic view of the integration.
SH, HR Project Manager said: "David brought insight and energy to the process. He was very popular and an excellent team player."
